How do you keep up with the blogs that you follow?

I have been thinking about this a lot lately.

How do you all keep up with all the blogs?

Do you read one and make comments . . . or read many and then pick and choose the ones that you will return to leave a comment?

How do you fit it into your day?

I have been very picky about the number of blogs I follow - I don't want to follow to many and feel like I can't keep up with them. Just doesn't seem like there is enough time in the day.

It isn't appropriate to check the blogs that I follow while at work. So that leaves me with the evenings. I work full time and usually don't get home until 6:30. By the time I make and / or eat dinner and clean up, it can be 8:00. Add laundry and taking the dog for a walk and I just don't have the time I would like.

AND for those of you with young children, playing, helping with homework, giving baths and getting the little ones to bed . . . the whole evening is already gone by the time you have any time to yourself.

??????? HOW DO YOU DO IT??????

  1. I started blogging only 2 weeks ago and I admit that it is taking up more time than I expected. I'm curious about what everyone is thinking and experiencing. Still, I am slowly starting to zone in on the blogs that interest me the most and focus on those...but, I'm still checking out new blogs at least once a week. I mostly comment if I have something to say (like now :))...or if I'm new and I want to let someone know what I like about their blog. Okay...I really must get to bed now!!

  2. I do follow a lot of blogs. But recently I have been thinking I need to limit the blog roll to those blogs that inspire me, teach me, enlighten me. And I do want that relationship to be a two way street. One of my reasons for blogging to to connect with people who share my passion for running and a healtier lifestlye. It doesn't have to be at my level, it could be more or less. I follow Steph who is doing 50 marathons, she is way more driven that I am but I love her blog because she inspires me. I follow some runners who have yet to run a single marathon but I hope to encourge them to reach for whatever goals they set and maybe strech beyond that!
I can not wait to read what others say.

  3. My kids go to bed early... like 6 and 7 at night! Then I will check it while I am at work on my break. I have been thinking about cutting back on my blogroll too just to keep more of a relationship with people. I love the support and information the blogging community has given to me!

  4. So I think I will concentrate on the blogs that I currently follow and maybe add a couple more. I also know that I just won't have time to comment daily . . . but instead will try to to make a commitment to review blogs at least every other day.

ANN - I am also relatively new to blogging - just started in November

SHELLY - I can't believe that someone is doing 50 marathons. I did one in 2000 - it was my new year resolution. Seemed appropriate to run my first marathon in 2000. I loved it - but just don't think I can make the commitment to train for another marathon. . . let alone 50 of them.

STACI - Love your blog design - it is very charming and it always makes me want a good cup of coffee. ;-)
