Lunch time walk

Since I am letting my stress fracture heal - and have not run for almost 3 weeks - I have been trying to walk at lunch. Normally I eat my lunch at my desk so that I can get more work done.

So here are a few pictures from my walk today. My office is in downtown Madison, one block from Lake Monona and about 5 blocks from the Capitol. I usually head east, through a neighborhood to enjoy my walk. It was super windy today - but warm. Beautiful.

First picture is from my office . . . it looks over our parking lot and off in the distance is Lake Monona.

These are a couple of pictures of the lake along one of the neighborhood streets.

Here were a couple of almost translucent tulips - scattered in a lawn that was not taken care of . . . but the tulips were beautiful.

On my way back to the office I stopped at Madison Sourdough Company for a baguette of sourdough for dinner. I had made Goulash and figured the bread would go really well. It was delicious - cruncy crust and soft inside. (sorry for the blur in lower left hand corner)

  2. It was very warm here today too!

I am glad you are able to get out and walk while you stress fracture heals. It probably helps to stay in a routine of fitness. I know myself how easy it is to slip into laziness. I try not to miss more than 2 full days or I start to enjoy being lazy! EKKK!;-)

    Take care and heal quickly.

Now I am craving something warm and hearty with a big chunk of fresh bread to dip into it! What do I have in the kitchen?!

  6. How can you get any work done seeing that lake in the distance. Don't you feel this urge to leave the office and never come back?
It seems you are having a beautiful spring.
Have a great weekend. (BTW, not running sucks - as much as I enjoy walking, nor running sucks!)
